" Ferrara delighted me. The fact that a large proportion of the old brick houses have my favorite pastel colors played a significant role in this.
There is nothing gloomy in the medieval houses of the old town, more of a soft gentleness, underlined by the lovely palettes on the windows. I can't say a better word to Ferrara than it's heartening. (aji, 2022)

Population (2021): 136,373

One of the main features of Ferrara is that a nine-kilometer-long wall surrounds it. The wall was built mainly during the 15th and 16th centuries.
